We have all seen deer and they pretty much just come in one color - right?

Well, a woman in Danbury, Connecticut recently spotted an all-white deer. Last weekend, Shirley Lowell was taking a peek at her property when she caught a glimpse of something white in the woods near her yard.

She soon realized she was staring at a rare deer. Lowell grabbed her camera and recorded the animal as she thought no one would believe her.

Now that her neighbors have seen the footage, they too are stunned. Most admit they’ve never witnessed anything like it and agree they would like to see it in person.

Pat Sesta, the Director of Wilton Environmental Affairs says there is an explanation for why the deer is all white. She explained, “It's probably a Piebold deer as opposed to an albino deer, so it does have pigment; it's just white instead of brown.”

Typically white deer don’t make it past the first few months of life as the white fur makes them noticeable among predators. For now, the deer has gained quite a few human fans in Danbury, who are hopeful the pretty creature will come around again.
