Iranian state media agency Tasnim has broadcast footage that purportedly shows the debris of an Israeli drone shot down near the Natanz nuclear facility.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement on Sunday (August 24) saying that its forces had fired a missile at a drone that was on course to fly over Natanz.
The IRGC did not specify the date of the incident.
Arabic-language broadcaster Al-Alam, which is sponsored by the Iranian government, reported that the aircraft was downed on Saturday (August 23).
Israel has made no comment on the IRGC statement or the Iranian media reports.
Tehran says its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes – but critics, Israel included, believe it to be a front for developing weapons.
