American pianist and bandleader Dave Kaplan (not to be mistaken for the Canadian bandleader Dave Caplan) is almost totally forgotten today. Sadly, hardly any information is available about him. He is best remembered for his work accompanying the Happiness Boys at the piano. As a bandleader, he exclusively recorded for Edison, mainly during the first half of the 1920s. This excellent record (courtesy of bixbix81) was made in 1924.
