Bon Appetit has named the best new restaurants in America and Washington D.C.’s Rose’s Luxury garnered the top spot.
The dining establishment is owned by chef Aaron Silverman and features a variety of globally inspired dishes including small plates and family style meals.
Editor Andrew Knowlton, who bestowed the honor, said the food was definitely brilliant, but the chef’s lack of ego made a sizeable impression as well.
He wrote that while Silverman, "is clearly concerned with the food that goes out on his plates, he pays even closer attention to the people eating it.”
Those wanting to try Rose’s Luxury themselves should note that the only reservations taken are for the private rooftop garden.
According to the restaurant’s website, cancellations of the booking are a serious matter and require the occurrence of an extreme event, like a zombie apocalypse.
Other restaurants earning a place in the top 10 include Philadelphia’s High Street on Market and Thai-Kun, a food truck in Austin, Texas.
