The Thai parliament elects current military junta Prayuth Chan-Ocha as the country's new prime minister.
In a vote of 191 in favor, and none against, Pryuth is awarded the title from a parliament he hand picked.
Prayuth seized power in May during a coup after six months of sometimes deadly protests against then Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
Although his appointment paves the way for an interim government to be set up in the coming weeks, power will remain firmly in the junta's hands.
The general has said he plans to press ahead with a year of political reforms before new elections in late 2015.
