Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar said on Saturday that the government will not intercept any democratic and political activity, adding that the Red Zone is country’s red line and that it is security institutions’ responsibility to guard it, Dunya News reported.
He said there are reports that at least two suicide bombers have entered the twin cities, adding that a security cordon has been formed around the processions.
Addressing press conference after evaluating red zone security arrangements, Ch Nisar said that the government did not put any obstacles in the way of the sit-in protests despite legal authority.
He said red zone is the red line and security institutions have to guard it in any case.
He said that there are grave terror threats and that every life is precious for the government.
Interior Minister said that at least two suicide bombers have reportedly entered the twin cities, following which the government has formed a security cordon comprising as many as thirty thousand security officials.
He said the government is trying to keep the flow of traffic in the capital going.
