I was walking on the beach of Fort Stevens, near Warrenton, OR. I didn't see anyone else on the beach at this time. It does seem a little out of the way. The tides were rising as I was walking on the beach, but I was able to discover clam holes at least. I never saw them before in person. I only watched people stomping around on the beach trying to scare clams, which is supposed to give their location.
I don't know the rules for digging to get clams on that beach, but I'm sure they are stringent.
