JI chief said Jamaat will continue its 'constructive' efforts even after August 14.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Thursday proposed a five-point agenda to deal with the ongoing political crisis, saying that Pakistan cannot afford an attack on democracy, Dunya News reported.
Addressing the media, JI chief said that Pakistan at this point cannot afford an attack on democracy, adding that finding a political way out is critical to save the constitution and democracy.
Sirajul Haq said that Jamaat’s point of view over election rigging isn’t one sided, and that there should be a vote recount in the compromised constituencies along with the reformation of the election commission.
He further said that all the demands must be assessed in the light of constitution. He said he is in contact with politicians including Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Ahsan Iqbal over the telephone even today.
