Four Palestinian bomb disposal officers and two journalists have been killed in Gaza after an Israeli missile exploded while being diffused.
The carnage happened in the town of Beit Lahiya in the north of the Gaza Strip.
Both journalists, the Italian Simone Camilli and Palestinian Ali Shehda Afash, were working for the Associated Press:
Gary Pruitt from AP said Simone Camilli was a highly experienced journalist:
“Over the years he has covered wars and conflicts in Georgia, the war between Israel and Lebanon in 2006, the Syrian refugee crisis and the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq.”
Relatives of the dead Palestinian journalist have laid the 36-year-old father of two to rest.
Four others were seriously injured in the explosion including AP photographer, Hatem Moussa.
