It’s called the HexHog and is referred to as the ‘all terrain off-road wheelchair’. A quick glance reveals it bears a slight resemblance to a lawnmower, only it’s got six wheels instead of four.
The tires have serious tread, similar to what you’d see on a quad.A lithium-ion battery power plant means riders don’t experience vibration, noise or fumes.
There is no need to lean or change body position thanks to a patented flexing chassis. The wheelchair comes complete with a seat transfer system, a programmable joystick and electronic drive architecture.
The HexHog is a little less than 4 feet wide and weighs approximately 600 pounds. The wheelchair has a top speed of 8.5 miles per hour.
In addition to traveling over rocks, hills, sand, mud, snow and ice, the HexHog can also cruise through decent amounts of water.
The all-terrain chair sells for about as much as a new car, as it starts at over $30,000. What do you think of the concept?
