BUSINESS DAILY - Japanese economy slumps after sales tax rise

The Japanese economy sharply contracted in the three months from April to June, the worst slump seen since the earthquake and tsunami that hit the country in 2011. The 1.7% contraction comes after Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's government increased sales tax in April. Also today: Samsung moves to cut binge drinking by employees at work events.
