Blue Poppy in Sikkim

The Meconopsis horridula or Himalayan Blue Poppy in the wild, along the upper reaches of the Teesta / Tista river, near Gurodongmar in north Sikkim, India. Blue poppy is the national flower of Bhutan. It is found from Kumaon to Kashmir at elevations of 3,000 to 4,500 meters. A postal stamp was issued by the Indian Postal Department, to commemorate this flower.
