Pre-monsoon storm in teak trees as seen from Ananda in the sub-Himalayan low hills Narendranagar town, Uttarakhand, India, and the hills towards Rishikesh in the plains below, where the Ganga / Ganges river, enters the plains of north India. Narendranagar is also the town where the Ananda spa is located.

It was formerly known as Uttaranchal until January 01, 2007. Uttarakhand is marked by its spiritual and favorable places of pilgrimage, its natural beauty, steep hilly mountains, and wealth of the Himalayas, the Bhabhar and the Terai. It also shares an international border with Nepal and China.
