Indian Peafowl female, also known as the peahen (Pavo cristatus)
Another summer and monsoon breeder is the Indian Peafowl. Here a Peahen delicately turns the eggs in her clutch in an effort to uniformly incubate them. She has moistened her belly so as to keep the eggs humid and warm at the same time, even as she pants in the unrelenting summer sun.
