Black-capped Sibia or Rufous Sibia in the Himalaya

This bird is known as the Black-capped Sibia or the Rufous Sibia which is its new name.The scientific name of the bird is Heterophasia capistrata. It's roughly the size of a bulbul and is around 21 cms. long. It is found in evergreen forests or moist, deciduous forests of oak, chestnut and fir. It is found in the Himalaya up to an approximate altitude of 3500 m.

This bird is known as 'Three Cheers' for the sound of its call which sounds like it is saying those two words!
