The Kalakar Trust (i.e. Artists' Trust) is a non-profit organisation working towards the improvement of the lives of traditional artists in Delhi's slums by providing Education, Healthcare,Income generation and Community management.
Mrs. Sterre Sharma - a painter - and her sister Dr. Mei Zegers, founded the Trust in 1992.
The Kalakar Trust has grown to benefit more than 1200 families of mostly puppeteers, dancers, musicians, acrobats, and magicians.
