Bats searching for prey near plum blossoms

2014-08-12 6

We filmed these bats flying around our plum orchard in Uttarakhand earlier this week, at an altitude of 7800 feet, at the Wilderness Himalayan Orchard and Mountain Quail Sanctuary. They were looking for insects that are attracted to the plum blossoms, including moths. We filmed the bats at 400 frames per second and slowed down the footage for you to study their flight!
