Collection of ancient books at Hazrat Shah Waliullah Public Library

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of Old Delhi through the alleys like maze at Jama Masjid is an unknown Library known as Hazrat Shah Waliullah Public Library, an initiative by Delhi Youth Welfare Association.It was founded during 1990 and has a very rare collection of Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Sanskrit, English and Urdu books. There are thousands of books some dating back to early 19th century like Deewan-e-Safar , a poetry book by last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. This library opens from 10:00am to 1:00pm and 9:30pm to 11:30pm. People from all the places come to visit the library and to read the precious gift of knowledge that has been stored in a one little roomed library in the corner of Pahari Imli in Chooriwalan near Jama Masjid, Old Delhi.
