Camellias are a commonly grown shrub in Himalayan hill station gardens and were first brought to India during British times. This tall shrub, almost a tree, grows in the hill-station town of Chakrata in Uttarakhand.
The Camellia belongs to the tea family. After all, the tea plant is Camellia sinensis referring to its origins in China.
