Indian school kids with British school ties + crowded train commuters disembark

2014-08-12 61

Overcrowded Indian trains with commuters coming out during the morning rush hour at Shahdara Railway Junction station in Delhi. See the unruly crowds disembark and emerge from the train! No sense of platform or walk and 'no walk' zones - everyone is crawling out and getting everywhere like ants.

Crossing the tracks is de rigueur and standard practice... Also notice the predominance of women commuters!

Notice the school students with their school ties unfastened and loosely worn around their necks. A British school uniform tradition handed down to Indians, through the years of British rule...
