Whisky.com tastes the Benriach 1996 Pedro Ximenez Finish. This whisky was matured in a sherry puncheon. This is a bit smaller than the usual sherry butt. A smaller cask means the whisky is maturing faster than in a bigger cask.
The nose:
Pedro Ximenez sherry, rasins, dark fruits.
The taste:
Lemon zest, fruitiness with a little oakiness. Ginger with a few spices.
The finish:
Slowly fades away.
