More than 1,000 firefighters are battling a huge blaze in the Tver forest north of Moscow.
The region has already suffered from 200 fires this dry season.
Two hundred and thirty vehicles, four helicopters and four planes have been mobilised to quench the blaze, with some progress in halting it now being reported.
