Kurt Felix produced his best performance in the Decathlon at the 2014 Commonwealth Games since he won the NCAA Championship in 2012. Felix showed commitment and determination and was edged out of the silver medal by 39 points. However, he set a new national mark of 8070 points to get the bronze medal and to make up for the disappointments of London 2012 and Moscow 2013.
