White House: No plans to stop flights from Ebola-stricken nations

The White House said on Monday (August 4) that the United States has no plans to ban incoming flights from the west Africa Nations where the Ebola outbreak has occured.

"At this point there are screenings that are in place both before individuals board flights in their home countries or where these flights originate but also after these individuals arrive here in the United States they are screened once again. And there are facilities available that if an individual detected exhibiting these symptoms they can be quarantined and promptly evaluated by a medical professional," said White House spokesman Josh Earnest.

The latest outbreak began in the forests of remote eastern Guinea in February and has killed 826 people in West Africa since the outbreak began, mostly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
