Russia appears to be making a mockery of the newest round of sanctions. A photo recently appeared on Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin’s Twitter account.

Our President is tougher than yours. That would appear to be the stance Russia is taking, perhaps in retaliation to the latest round of sanctions against them. A photo recently appeared on Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin’s Twitter account.

The image shows Russian President Vladimir Putin on one side and U.S. president Barack Obama on the other. Putin is holding a leopard, while Obama is cradling a white, fluffy poodle.

A caption notes “We have different values and allies.” The photo was posted to Twitter on Thursday and the timing seems to show it’s aimed at the additional sanctions enacted against Russia by the United States and the European Union earlier in the week over the ongoing situation in the Ukraine.

The picture is an odd, and some would say juvenile, dig at the perceived manly differences between Putin and Obama. The Russian president's picture was taken during the run-up to the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2013, while Obama’s was snapped when he was running for the senate.

Within two hours the combined image had been retweeted over 600 times.
