North Korea held a commencement ceremony on Tuesday (July 29) for foreign children invited to the Songdowon International Children's Camp in Wonsan.
Video footage provided by the North's state news agency KCNA, which could not be independently verified by Reuters, showed North Korean children and other children from various countries attending the ceremony. the children also offered flowers at the statues of North Korea's founder Kim Il Sung and the late leader Kim Jong Il.
KCNA said children from Russia, Ireland, Vietnam and Tanzania attended its 24th international camp for children at the recently renovated camp site in the eastern coastal city of Wonsan.
During the camp, children will spend their days doing activities including marine sports and games, KCNA added.
The camp has an outdoor playground, gymnasium, indoor swimming pool and water park, an aquarium and an aviary, KCNA said.
