Bio:
I thought making it onto a cooking reality show would be my ticket to culinary fame, but the whole experience was a disappointment. Since then I have quit my job in a commercial kitchen and decided to start making my own cooking show, QUICK MEALS. This is episode 9. My gal and I weren't feeling very good this week. So what's the cure? More cowbell? Errr...nope. The only prescription is more homemade chicken noodle soup. So that's what I made. I'm feeling better already :)
Home is where the heart is, and good food brings family and friends together around the table. That's what I'm all about and that's what I want QUICK MEALS to be all about.
Recipe:
Start off by placing your raw chicken in your slow cooker. Then add in your carrots, celery, onion, and garlic. Drizzle your olive oil all over that good stuff. Then pour in your chicken broth. Then add your thyme, rosemary, celery salt, and bay leaves.
Cover your slow cooker, turn the heat to low, and come back in 6-7 hours.
6-7 hours later: After your chicken is nice and cooked it's time to fish out your fowl. Set in on a cutting board and cut it into nice bite-size pieces. Meanwhile, add your egg noodles and parsley to the soup and let them cook for 15 minutes.
15 minutes later: Add your chicken back into the soup. Also add your lemon juice. Give it all a stir and then your chicken noodle soup is ready for you and your loved ones to enjoy. This quick meal is the best medicine I know of and I guarantee it will make your taste buds PAP!
Shout out to the late, great Mrs. Vlasic! She taught me this recipe when I was in the 9th grade. She taught me a lot. A lot ;)
