Streams of injured civilians arrive at hospital in southern Gaza. This is one of these busiest hospitals in the region. Doctors here says they've seen no let up since the the conflict started nearly three weeks ago.

Israeli jets and tanks pounded the area Tuesday ---- carving out the center of the Farouk Mosque and causing its roof and walls to collapse. They also shelled the Al-Aqsa Martyr's Hospital in central Gaza, killing four patients and damaging the building.

The International Red Cross condemned the attack in "the strongest terms," saying medical teams had come under fire at least four times. While western powers are scrambling to formulate some sort of truce, the possibility of a ceasefire seemed remote. The death toll on Tuesday reached 600.
