The Israeli city of Tel Aviv has been coming under fire from Gaza.

Two rockets are reported to have been intercepted mid-air.

Israeli officials say at least 40 rockets have been fired into Israel since Monday morning.

The Iron Dome defence system is stopping most of the rockets coming from Gaza, but a house was struck in the southern city of Sderot.

Meanwhile, the Israeli President Shimon Peres has been visiting the families of Israeli soldiers killed over the weekend during the ground offensive in the Gaza Strip.

The state’s finance minister also paid a tribute at the funeral of one of the soldiers killed in the fighting.
