Funeral arrangements for a young Dutch couple killed on board flight MH17 are impossible while the whereabouts of their bodies are unknown.
The mother of 23-year-old Bryce Fredriksz, who was on his way to Bali for a holiday with his girlfriend Daisy Oehlers, 20, has appealed for all victims’ remains to be brought home.
“When I am in my bed at night, I see my son lying on the ground, I see Daisy, I see Bryce, I see them in my head… I see it,” said Silene Fredriksz-Hoogzand as she choked back tears.
Flowers were brought to the family home in Rotterdam by a friend due to meet the couple in Bali.
Silene said she was not looking to blame anyone for the deaths.
“I don’t want revenge, I don’t want anyone to be killed any more,” she said.
Earlier the distraught mother made an emotional appeal to Russia’s President Putin at Amsterdam’s Schipol airport, from where the airliner took off.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima were due to meet relatives of crash victims near Utrecht on Monday afternoon.
