A dog in Chicago has gotten a remarkable makeover. Staffers at Trio Animal Foundation discovered the pooch at a local shelter.
At the time, the canine was in very poor shape, so bad in fact they weren’t sure if it was male or female because of the 2 pounds of matted fur. They later learned the dog is a female.
When the employees first saw her, they held out a treat to determine which end was her front. The poor pooch was surrounded by flies and gnats.
Little did staffers know then that underneath all that knotted and debris-filled fur was an adorable little dog. The Trio Animal Foundation enlisted the help of a groomer at Mutt Hutt to help with the transformation.
Thus began an hour and a half long ordeal to beautify the pooch. She was shaved and had fur tediously pulled out that had grown to over two inches long in the canine’s ear canal. Never once did she growl or show her teeth.
All the efforts paid off and the dog, now named Ellen is a gorgeous 8.5 pound girl that is ready to be adopted. Ellen has had all her vaccinations and undergone veterinary testing to ensure whoever ends up with her knows she’s perfectly healthy.
