Matt Norton and Soldiers from the 133rd Engineer Battalion were welcomed home by family, friends, community members, and veteran's associations at the Augusta Armory, Tuesday July 1. Some met their daughters for the first time after being over seas since August 13th of 2013!!
This is and probably will be one of the most emotional videos I will ever make. It was an honer and pleasure to work with Canaan Norton and her family in making this video.
This is just a snippet of all the footage I filmed but is the heart and soul of what took place that day when Matt came back home.
Shortly after Matt was deployed overseas.... He and his wife Canaan found out she was pregnant...... After Canaan had the baby...Somebody took a photo of her and the baby in the hospital of her and Matt SKYPING in which the photo took a life on it's own and went viral......

I will never forget the day I spoke with Canaan about her wanting me to be a part of her and her babies special day......
She told me about this image you see here going viral and all the feedback she received from it..... I told her I don't really do video.... But she wasn't really taking no for an answer...... I felt so honored and a bit emotional that she really wanted me to do this.... So after much thought and debating.....I finally agreed to it..... I have so much appreciation for those who once served and are still serving or country !! Canaan is a sweetheart which made it even harder for me to say no......lol
I am so proud of this video and so honored to be a part of such a great event!! It meant so much to me and I just want and need to thank Canaan for believing in me when I really didn't ....It's hard to admit I was scared as hell about taking this job on......I'm so glad to know Canaan, Matt and his family liked it.
To watch them first lock eyes and that amazing embrace they gave each other still gives me goosebumps to watch!! Followed up by watching Matt meet his daughter for the first time.
