An 8-year-old little boy in Minneapolis recently put on a free performance for local residents. Dylan Spoering played the piano as part of a makeshift concert and hundreds of community members gathered on a rainy day to show their support for him.
Dylan held his own recital right on the front porch of his home. The boy had been planning the concert for about a week.
He tried to attract fans by placing a hand-written sign in his front yard advertising the performance. Dylan got quite a bit of attention when local musician Thomas Rehbein created a Facebook event for the concert.
Everything worked in Dylan’s favor. Approximately 400 people showed up in the poor weather to watch and hear him play the piano. The performance was streaming live on the web so anybody from around the world could see his talent.
Those who were in attendance cheered loudly, passed out cookies and yelled out the names of the songs he was playing. All of Dylan’s new fans were smiling as they watched him tickle the ivories and at the same time they showed the community was in full support of the small, aspiring musician.
After Dylan wrapped up his final tune, he invited locals to a nearby park for ice cream.
