Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has called a core committee meeting on July 15 to review the situation after the government’s announcement that it will be holding freedom celebrations from August 1 in the capital city and thus will not be allowing PTI to hold rally in the city. The committee will also discuss the current political and security situation in the country. Preparations of the Long March will also be examined on this occasion. Core committee will also discuss the possibilities in case party leadership gets detained. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK) Pervaiz Khattak will brief the core committee about the relief work being done by the KPK government for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Information Secretary of PTI Shirien Mazari has said that the decision of Long March on August 14 was well thought out and that it will strengthen democracy. Government’s invitation to Imran Khan will also be discussed during this meeting.
