Samsung has announced it has severed ties with a Chinese supplier over the suspected use of child labour.

The decision comes after the US based China Labour Watch found at least “five child workers” at the supplier and described the tech giant’s monitoring process to end such practices as “ineffective.”

The world’s biggest smartphone manufacturer said it had conducted three audit’s on the supplier, the latest in June.

Following the China Labour Watch Report Samsung admitted evidence of suspected underage workers.

The admission suggests the Korean company appears unable to enforce labour practices in China.

Authorities in China are also investigating the reports.
