The World Health Organisation says the virus is still spreading in Sierra Leone and Liberia and to a lesser extent in Guinea.

There's been another 44 new cases and 21 deaths between July 6th and 8th.

At least 539 have now died in West Africa's first outbreak of the disease.

"In Liberia and Sierra Leone the situation remains precarious, with new figures, new cases of infections and deaths. We have now identified the hotspots or the places where there is really intensive Ebola activity."

There's no treatment or vaccine against Ebola which kills up to 90 per cent of its victims.
