Recently locals in Kyoto, Japan stumbled across a rare sight. They spotted a Japanese Giant Salamander roaming on the street in broad daylight.
The monstrous creature prompted witnesses to call police for help. Humans hardly ever get to see one of the creatures.
The species typically frequents the waters of fast-flowing rivers and rarely ventures away from that liquid habitat.
The salamanders have extremely strong jaws as well.
Given the giant size, it didn't take long for Kyoto residents to spot the wandering salamander.
Once cops arrived on scene, they slowly coaxed it back to the waters of the Kamo River. Fortunately officers were able to do just that without problems.
Aside from being spooked a bit by just the sight of the freakish creature, everyone walked away unharmed.
