STORY: Youthful duo Ralph & Russo offered up a collection that was pure couture on Thursday (July 10) as dramatic ball gowns and delicate embroidery brought Paris Fashion Week to a close.
The house -- which counts Beyonce and Angelina Jolie amongst its devotees -- created a media buzz earlier this year when it became the first British label in recent history permitted to show at the French capital's prestigious Haute Couture week.
Now rubbing shoulders with the likes of Chanel and Valentino, the pair produced a collection whose attention to detail in silks, satins and crystals proved their worth.
An off-the-shoulder dress in ice-blue silk studded with crystals and pearls opened the show -- one of many which gave a respectful nod to the 1950s and the history of couture.
Embroidery was everywhere, and floor-length silk gowns in regal colours gave a majestic feel to the runway which was lined with marble columns.
