George Clooney sets the record straight

In a rare move, Oscar winning actor George Clooney issued an exclusive statement to USA Today denying a report by the MailOnline and the Daily Mail that his future mother-in-law, did not approve of his upcoming marriage for religious reasons.

Part of that statement reads: "I seldom respond to tabloids, unless it involves someone else and their safety or well being. The Daily Mail has printed a completely fabricated story about my fiancée's mother opposing our marriage for religious reasons."

The Mail Online has since apologized to Clooney via its website and deleted the article calling it 'irresponsible'.

Clooney, one of Hollywood's leading men and his fiancée, human-rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin were reportedly engaged in April.
