Captain had alerted the ground crew when 40-year-old passenger made threats.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Commandos deployed at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on Tuesday took a 40-year-old ‘suspicious’ man into custody just as a private airliner carrying 300 passengers landed, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the suspect was identified as Saadullah and had reportedly made threats to murder the captain and harm the aircraft. Following this, the captain alerted the control tower over threats made by the suspicious passenger aboard the flight that arrived from Muscat. The aircraft was cleared after it was established that no other passenger was suspicious.
The suspect was transferred to an undisclosed location for investigation.
The ground staff at Lahore airport issued high alert and summoned the anti-terrorist squad who escorted the aircraft to the Hajj terminal upon landing. The suspect was arrested from the aircraft following a commando action and was transferred to an undisclosed location for investigation.
The aircraft was cleared after it was established that no other passenger was suspicious and that the suspect wasn’t carrying any weapons.
