This year’s event was no exception and several spectators got quite the shock on Saturday July 5th when a Turkish air force jet came dangerously close to their heads.

Just prior to the terrifying occurrence, plane enthusiasts who were armed with cameras and recording devices, crowded the runway for the perfect shot. Moments later most of the viewers quickly crouched to the ground, fearing the aircraft would hit their heads.
One individual seemed unphased by the incident and continued on filming as if nothing had happened. The Turkish Air Force plane had been just about 10 feet above their heads.
The spectators were standing on a public road right outside the Royal Air Force or RAF base where the event is held, so it’s thought they didn’t have tickets to the sold-out show. There is a fence that separates viewers from the landing strip with a warning sign that tells people not to climb on it.
The RAF has since described the aircraft’s landing as “a completely normal approach, within all normal parameters.”
