Former Beatles frontman, Paul McCartney recently returned to the stage in Albany, New York. The 72-year-old belted out some tunes and also helped a fan propose to his girlfriend in front of a packed audience.
McCartney decided to pull them up on stage after spotting the groom-to-be, John Dann, from Rochester and his girlfriend, Claudia Rodgers mixed in with the crowd. The couple stood out because they were each holding up neon signs.
Hers noted “He won't marry me 'til he meets you” while Dann’s read "I have the ring & I'm 64." In front of 13,000 cheering fans, the pair walked up next to McCartney.
Right before he popped the question, 64-year-old Dann went up to the mic and began singing a verse of the Beatles hit song ‘When I'm Sixty-Four’. After that, McCartney and his band chimed in as Dann got down on one knee and proposed. Rodgers said yes.
The couple, who first connected on Match.com nearly 8 years ago, then made their way back to their seats where they were met with a steady stream of high-fives from fellow fans.
