Protesters gather, await arrival of undocumented immigrants in California

This small southern California town of Murrieta has become a battleground for U.S. immigration.

These protesters are waiting for the arrival of bus loads of workers from Central America, who entered the United States illegally.

Around 140 immigrant families are being returned to this Border Station for processing.

On the Fourth of July holiday, demonstrators on both sides of the immigration issue squared off , leading to a shouting match.

Protesters, who opposed Central Americans coming to the US, said they didn't want to be labelled racists.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) ANITA RADOSEVIC, RIVERSIDE COUNTY RESIDENT, SAYING:

"This is a disgrace, it is humiliating and we're not like that, we're very good people, very compassionate people, we'll do anything we can to help but the people that are coming in, they're not from Mexico and we're more than willing to help our illegals from Mexico. They're more like Americans, they come here and they work hard."
