I just got back from a great experience at Diplomate. Man, I love when I'm so happy with a business that I can't wait to write it up for y'all to see! Diplomate is a small music store on Beaubien, near the metro. They don't have everything, so I hadn't thought to check them out in my last couple weeks of looking for a certain pedal. But walking by today I stuck my head in and was amply rewarded. Not only did they have it, it was significantly cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it! And even more importantly, the service: respectful, helpful, no music store snark at all. I think a player of any instrument at any level in their playing would be treated like a valued customer here, and that's as it should be. 5 stars for sure! And thanks!!
