He arrived in a taxi, flanked by family members and surrounded by scores of cameras.
But Rolf Harris left court on Friday July 4 in a police van, facing disgrace, humiliation and prison.
The 84-year-old Australian was sentenced earlier in the day to nearly six years in jail for repeatedly abusing young girls during decades as a beloved host of children's television shows.
Harris' daughter Bindi Nicholls left the court after sentencing.
His family made no comment.
But a statement from the brother of one of the victims, read out by a representative, made it clear that while Harris himself might be gone for now, the memories of what he had done to his victims would remain.
