There's one place no live chicken wants to be close to and that's KFC.
A chicken in Scotland was recently rescued after she was spotted wandering outside a KFC restaurant. The ISA Brown chicken was found on a busy road in Alloa.
The bird was plucked from the street and is now in the care of ‘Scottish SPCA's Edinburgh and Lothians animal rescue and rehoming centre.’
Animal rescue officer, Kirsty McQuade said “Peggy is missing a lot of feathers and isn't in great condition. At this stage we don't know how she came to be there. She could have strayed from home but we also have to consider that she may have been abandoned.”
Rescue staffers have named the chicken Peggy. Everyone involved in saving her is thrilled she wasn’t run over, given the heavy traffic on the street.
McQuade is asking for anyone with information about Peggy’s owner to contact the facility.
In the meantime, employees at the rescue and rehoming center are committed to looking after her.
