The first hurricane of the season in the Atlantic is threatening parts of the eastern US coast.
Holidaymakers in North Carolina have been packing up and leaving because of Hurricane Arthur, which has been upgraded from a tropical storm and is predicted to bring winds of 135 kilometres an hour.
Several of Friday’s Independence Day festivities have been rescheduled.
