Adam Richman is among the Travel Channel's biggest stars.
The network has pulled its upcoming show hosted by Richman following the star’s barrage of profanity-laden comments on Instagram.
“It started when Richman who bared it all for this month’s issue of Cosmo U.K. showing off his 70 pound weight loss, instagrammed a photo related to his dramatic drop in weight using the #thinspiration.” [Via ABC]
A woman who saw the post tagged Richman in a comment expressing how upset she was that he closed with ‘thinspiration’. The tag, she said, is used among pro-anorexic and bulimic communities.
The television host’s response was an acronym for ‘Do I look like I give a’ ending with an expletive.
A friend of the woman joined in the conversation and later published several of the torrid, profanity-laden posts made by Richman in XOJane’s ‘It Happened to Me’ column.
Richman has since made a public apology via Good Morning America, clarifying that he had no idea about the true nature of hashtag thinspiration.
