According to a witness, he heard a ‘pop’ and turned around to see the slide had deployed. 96 passengers and five crew members were onboard the Boeing 737 at the time of the incident. Fortunately no one was injured.

United Airlines spokeswoman Christen David remarked “All passengers were seated at the time the slide deployed. A passenger did not attempt to open the door in flight.” After the slide deployed, Flight 1463 quickly descended and successfully landed in Wichita shortly after 10:30 P.M.
