A woman with breast cancer in Georgia recently made a grand entrance into her operating room. Just before she went under the knife, she danced ‘Gangham Style’ in the hallway of the hospital.
52-year-old Doreta Norris received a breast cancer diagnosis in November of 2013. She had been at the airport when she saw a video of a woman dancing in the operating room right before a double mastectomy.
The footage inspired Norris to bust out some moves of her own. When the day arrived for her surgery, she went all out in the hallway.
With a big grin on her face, she danced to her heart’s content all while dressed in a hospital gown and cap. Nurses and doctors gathered on the sidelines where they cheered and danced right along with her.
That effectively proved cancer couldn’t kill Norris’ spirit. The operation was carried out at Piedmont Henry Hospital near Atlanta.
Although she’s still weak while recovering, Norris is confident she’ll be dancing again one day soon.
